About This Role

Position Overview The Senior Software Developer (Azure AI & Integration) will serve as the lead engineer responsible for architecting and building the intelligent backend processing engine for a document digitization and redaction initiative. This role focuses exclusively on backend systems, leveraging Azure AI services to automate metadata extraction, redaction, and secure data handling.

This developer role will design, train, and deploy Azure Document Intelligence models to extract critical metadata from scanned documents, build a policy-driven automated redaction engine to identify and protect sensitive information and develop secure, scalable APIs to support the front-end application and AI Agent workflows.

Key Responsibilities: - Lead development of custom Azure Document Intelligence models to extract predefined metadata fields from scanned documents - Build serverless processing pipelines using Azure Functions for document intake, OCR enhancement, and data extraction at scale - Design and code a flexible, rules-based redaction engine for PII and sensitive data (HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA compliance) - Build comprehensive logging mechanisms with complete audit trails for every redaction action - Build and document robust RESTful APIs using .NET Core/C# to expose extracted metadata and redacted documents - Configure Azure Key Vault for secrets management and implement Managed Identities for secure authentication - Integrate with Azure ecosystem: Blob Storage, Cosmos DB/SQL Server, Logic Apps

Required Skills: - 7+ years software development, 3+ years focused on Azure AI and cognitive services - Hands-on experience with Azure Document Intelligence (Form Recognizer) custom models - Strong experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Blob Storage - Expert-level .NET Core / C# for backend services and APIs - RESTful API design, SQL Server/Entity Framework Core/Cosmos DB - Azure Key Vault, Managed Identities, and RBAC implementation - Experience with sensitive data (PII/PHI) and regulated environments (HIPAA, GDPR, CJIS) preferred
